Finite Element Analysis (FEA, FEM) can be used for verification of structures or systems. Some examples are presented here.

Some machine element are assembled using press fit. This works well in many cases but if the joined parts are fast spinning then the press fit may loose its tension, and therefore requires special attention.

In some cases stiffness or compliance is the most important property of a structure, the picture above illustrates and example of this. Stiffness is also impotent when designing bearing housings, especially for larger bearings.
